If you are looking for music theory or musicology lessons in which you can quickly and thoroughly learn the theory of both classical and contemporary music, then you will find it with me.
For the entrance examinations at music colleges, aspects of the musical language between approx. 1700 and 1950 - i.e. the tonal-functional musical language - are primarily tested. This music theory, which unfortunately hardly takes into account the musical epoch after 1950, is mainly referred to in Germany (somewhat misleadingly) as "general music theory" (allgemeine Musiklehre).
Of course, there is also a very comprehensive and well thought-out "music theory" or musicology for music after 1950. It helps to understand so-called new music (almost) as well as classical music. If you are interested in gaining a well-founded overview of contemporary music, my lessons are the right ones for you.
I therefore teach both classical music theory and the music theory of "new music". You also have the opportunity to analyze compositions from the Renaissance to the present day with me.
